ChangeUtopia! is a transnational series of public events touching on crucial themes for a new understanding of culture and politics. The series sees events in London, Paris, Berlin, Bologna, Barcelona and Warsaw. The appointment in Paris looks at the significance of the anniversary of 1989 for Europe and for China, inviting artists, protestors and intellectuals. The event will involve a discussion on artistic contestation in public space, and a panel comparing the Chinese and European experience, Charter 08 and Charter 77.
Participants include: Jiri Kovanda (Czech public space artist), Martin Krenn (Austrian Artist), Cai Chongguo (Chinese dissident), Estelle Nabeyrat (art critic) Nathanael Dupré La Tour (specialist on Charter 77) and Yan Chen (specialist on Chinese intellectual history)
