New Membership Structure of European Alternatives

European Alternatives is launching a new membership campaign. We like to think of ourselves as a community of activists, and lately we have been thinking hard about how democratise the organisation, giving members a greater say in how it is run, which political direction it follows, and what events and campaigns it conducts.
We have decided to set a series of Member’s Meetings in several european cities and a yearly Assembly, as well as offering members the chance to receive reimbursement for travel and accomodation attending selected events we organise around Europe, adn the opportunity to write for our magazine and website.
Members’ Meetings take place regularly in different parts of Europe, and culminate in a yearly transnational Members’ Assembly. In between Meetings we will also be engaging members through online consultations.
The Meetings will discuss the political positions of European Alternatives, along with which actions and projects should be promoted, which campaigns should be led, and generally what the organisation should be focusing on.
The first Members’ Meeting has taken place on November 17 in Bologna, Italy (see here). Future meetings are being planned for London, Paris, and Berlin.
Members are also be invited to contribute their thoughts and opinions to a new series of Opinion Blogs we have alunched on this website, with a selection reprinted in our bimonthly magazine.

We hope this new structure will allow for an increased participation to the work of European Alternatives, and a greater representativity of the interests and views of those taking part in its development!
With our best wishes,
Lorenzo and Niccolo
