Europarlementaires, experts et associations de journalistes se sont retrouvés pour réfléchir ensemble sur la "possibilité" d'un nouveau cadre normatif en mesure de garantir le pluralisme de l'information en Europe. Suite à cette rencontre, il a été décidé de lancer une Initiative Citoyenne pour demander à la Commission Européenne sa mise en acte.

What normative framework for the European Union? What options for a Citizens' Initiative? With: - Niccolo Rinaldi, MEP - Judith Sargentini, MEP - Mark Thompson; Open Society Institute, Media programme - Lorenzo Consoli; International Press Association, President - Council of Europe - Katrien Lefever, Interdisciplinary Centre for Law and ICT, K.U.Leuven - Giovani Melogli, Alliance International de Journalistes - Lorenzo Marsili, European Alternatives This roundtable will unite MEPs and experts from civil society and the media to reason together on the possibility of a European normative framework to guarantee pluralism of the media in Europe and prevent concentration of ownership. A particularly innovative aspect of the roundtable will be a constructive discussion on the possibility of using the new tool of participative democracy in Europe – the Citizens' Initiative – to demand the establishment of such a framework.
