The regional coordinator will be responsible for managing activities chiefly in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland, although she or he will also participate in the transnational activities of the organisation.
European Alternatives is committed to the emergence of transnational politics and culture, but works from the ‘bottom up’, fostering grass roots activities. The overall responsibility of the regional coordinator in London will be to foster grass roots activities throughout the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.
This will involve:
- establishing local groups and clubs throughout the country, and organising monthly meetings in London
- identifying and coordinating motivated individuals to participate in European Alternatives activities throughout Europe
- consolidating and establishing partnerships with other organisations, both in the non-profit and governmental sectors, both cultural and political organisations
- organising conferences and events which involve representatives of national and European institutions
- Coordinating the UK stages of a pan European consultation on the Stockholm program
- responsibility for TRANSEUROPA Festival in London, Edinburgh and Cardiff
