Transeuropa festival is an innovative kind of public event: at once an artistic, cultural and political celebration taking place simultaneously in London, Paris, Bologna and Cluj-Napoca.

About the Festival

Transeuropa develops from the successful and prize-winning London Festival of Europe, which was started by a young and transnational team of Europeans in 2007 and has run each spring since. Spring 2010 will see the transnationalisation of the festival in 4 cities: Bologna, Cluj, London and Paris.

With a cutting-edge programme featuring leading international thinkers, curators, and artists, Transeuropa engages with crucial issues of our times, including activism and transnational politics, environment and urbanism, the Bologna process, migration, feminism and equal opportunities, and much more. The Festival promotes active and responsible citizenship, particularly amongst the younger generation. The Festival builds links between the participating cities and addresses itself at a pan-European public.

Following the 2010 Transeuropa festival our ambition is to take the festival to additional cities in 2011 and 2012. Preparations are already being made in Belgrade, Berlin, Istanbul, Sofia, and St Petersburg.

Key points:
• Over 35 events in 4 cities
• A diverse programme including political, artistic, open-air, and academic events
• All festival events free to attend
